The Breakfast Blahs

I'm in a breakfast funk. Each morning I wake up and have a hard time deciding what to eat. For the past few months I've been on an oatmeal with brown sugar kick, but that's over now. I tried a bagel and cream cheese for a week. I only have three cereals I enjoy eating - Frosted Mini Wheats, Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds, and Cheerios (with bananas if possible) - but I haven't been feeling any of those options either. I don't want toast and eggs are too much of a hassle. Plus I really only enjoy eating eggs if they are accompanied by bacon or sausage, which really isn't healthy to eat everyday. Pancakes or waffles with syrup (because eating them any other way isn't an option for me) is too sugary. Do you see my conundrum? I need something filling so I'm not super munchy an hour after breakfast, and I'd like something reasonably healthy. Maybe I'll try banans and yogurt. What are you eating for breakfast these days?

I eat eggs with cheese or sausage most mornings. I think it's healthier and more filling than sugary or carb filled brekkies. If I really want to lose weight though- I eat egg whites with salsa or something gross like that :) I'm all about eggs though. I do love some cheese toast on ww bread when I want something fast

Well you've pretty much exhausted all your choices; I guess you'll hafta starve.

I am currently having a CRUNCH bar for breakfast, so I really do have room to give healthy or filling suggestions. I say, eat what you like!

Oughghghgh, I LOVE breakfast! Definitely try the Archer Farms Vanilla Almond Granola at Target... I don't think I can imagine a more delicious breakfast! ... and if you want to mix the granola with yogurt and fresh fruit, you've got a healthy AND scrumptious breakfast option. ... OR if you want to get really creative, try chocolate chip pancakes with low sugar vanilla yogurt on top. Delish!!

I don't know if you're very much of a peanut butter fan, but waffles with peanut butter and syrup is my fav. Why? Because I get agave syrup (has the same carbs as regular sugar, but has the lowest glycemic index of any sweetener so you don't have the big sugar rush and crash) and the peanut butter gives you a little protein that you add to by topping it off with milk instead of orange juice. My family was very skeptical until they tried it. Seriously, scrumptious.

I have to comment because I just found my new fav breakfast smoothie: 1 blender jar full of fresh spinach, 1/2 cup of pomegranate juice (like POM), 1 cup of blended frozen berries (I used blueberry, blackberry, raspberry mix), 2 bananas, and a c. of frozen mango. SO YUM!!! You don't even need one drop of sugar or honey.

Also love oatmeal with honey and frozen berry mix. Or oatmeal with honey, walnuts, and bananas.

I know the post is not the most recent, but I don't check too often so I'm catching up! I'll have to add you on fb!
