Foiled

I've been really struggling, and pretty much failing, at trying to get to church on time. Three months into my pregnancy with Amelia, Erik was called as the Elders Quorum in our ward. Pretty much from the time Amelia was born, through Charlotte's birth, and to the present I've been getting our child, then children, ready for and to church on my own. There have been easier times and more difficult times. I am currently going through a difficult time. Yesterday I decided to get up a half hour earlier than usual to ensure we would leave on time for church so last night I asked Erik to wake me up at 6:30am. This would give me the opportunity to have a little time to myself to take a shower and eat breakfast. Do you think that happened? Nope. Amelia was up at 5:45 this morning. Erik woke up with her and tried to convince her to go back to bed, but that is pretty much a fruitless task. Despite my extra half hour we were still 15 mintues late to church. Add the fact that I couldn't find one of the earings I wanted to wear, I had the most frustrating time trying to find Amelia's shoes, and I left my cell phone at home, by the time I got to church I was not a happy camper. So it looks like I'm going to have to get up even earlier next Sunday. We'll see if it helps or what obstacles I will have to suffer through. She sure is cute though!

Cheer up Charlie! One of these days you'll have the demanding calling leaving Erik to be Mr. Mom. Also, so they'll be able to (mostly) get themselves ready, right?

Did you cut Amelia's bangs again? Anyways, they are super cute. Why is she growing up so fast? Can't wait to see you tomorrow/Wednesday.

yeah- mine always choose to sleep in only on Sundays. It is the weirdest thing- every other day they're up at 7:30 and then on Sundays I'm lucky if they get up before 8.

C$ and I were super-lame on Sunday, and were half an hour late to church. We didn't even have a good excuse; we just didn't notice the time. Blerg.

I HATE SUNDAY MORNINGS. About 1 1/2 years ago Daniel was called as Elders Quorum President and I always struggle to get to church on Sunday. I usually end up arguing with Kinleigh, late and in a very bad mood by the time I get to church. Not really the right way to start out a Sunday is it? This year church is at 1 and I never thought I would say this but I LOVE IT! I hope you find a solution, very hard to do, but worth it.

Yes, I've discovered no matter how early I wake up, the stars aligned against me to get to church on time. I'm trying to find a way to make Sunday's not the worst day of my life every week. When you find the secret, let me in.
